"What ever happened to (your) 'Apt. 2 Recording' Studio? Do you still use it to record anything?"
Apt. 2 Recording has a very special place in my heart, since I actually lived in apartment 4 in the late seventies. In fact, Huey Lewis and I co-wrote our first song, "Some Of My Lies Are True," there on the corner of Redwood and Grant in Novato, California! Fast-forward to the late eighties when I rented both apartments again, and it’s really where I cut my teeth learning all aspects of recording, engineering and producing. HLN did a lot of work on "Small World" up there, and I cut 99% of "Lucky Devil" in those rooms.
Incidentally, my mixing console (pictured) came out of Sausalito’s Record Plant recording studio. Amongst others, that Trident 80-B saw John Fogarty cut "Centerfield," and HLN worked with both Nick Lowe and Philip Lynott on that console . . . if that board could talk!
And if walls could talk, nobody would watch TV anymore!
